DOLORES TO BE BACK WITH THE CRANBERRIES THIS SUMMER

The only date which has been confirmed at the moment is June 9, in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.

As Noel Hogan promised last week, The Cranberries fans got finally some great news: the band is back. We’ll be able to enjoy their music live again on June 9, after more than three years without having seen them together.

The Festi’neuch Festival webpage announced this morning that The Cranberries would play at this festival on June 9, sharing a bill with Skunk Anansie. For more information, visit http://festineuch.ch/artistes/the-cranberries/

Later in the morning, Noel Hogan himself tweeted that this is one of a few shows planned for this summer and that more Cranberries dates will be announced soon. This makes us suppose that there will be a small European tour of the band.

According to the Festival webpage, The Cranberries are planning to release a new album later this year, but the text where this was stated was removed from the page a few hours later. We’ll have to wait for the band to confirm this.

Even without a new album confirmation, knowing that Dolores will be back with The Cranberries is unbeatable news because this means that our favourite singer has recovered her positive energy and is ready to hit the stage and meet her fans again very soon. Meanwhile, we’ll be waiting for more news.

JETLAG’S ALBUM TO BE PUBLISHED EARLY 2016

We got this news from February today. Photographer Andrzej Liguz had the pleasure of taking Dolores O’Riordan a wonderful photo session in Marina del Ray, next to Venice Beach, LA.

“Dolores decided she wanted me to do a quick photo shoot with her, so I took these pictures in about 30 minutes in her apartment. It was my first real photo shoot with the Sony A7s and it went better than I expected considering I was using a camera I didn’t really know how to use”. Liguz says.

The most interesting part of this article is the little but exciting news we get from Jetlag NYC: their album is going to be released early next year!

As you may know, Jetlag is the project Andy Rourke (The Smiths) and producer and DJ Ole Koretsky started 5 years ago in New York, and to which Dolores has joined as their vocalist. Dolores has expressed her excitement in taking part in this project that is her new band now. In May, she and Ole Koretsky were spotted in a restaurant in Dublin, where they delighted some clients with an improvised sing-song.

THE CRANBERRIES IN THE BACHELORETTE: WHEN DREAMS STILL LINGER.

June 23rd, 2015.

When they started playing in local pubs at the end of the 80’s and the beginning of the 90’s, The Cranberries couldn’t just imagine that, 25 years later, they would have become a famous and legendary international band, acclaimed by an audience that joins people from different countries, ages and personal preferences.

After splitting up for the first time in 2003 to work on their solo projects, and getting re-united in 2009, they finished their last tour in 2012, and the changes and rumours over the last year made a lot of people think that maybe this was the last time we would see them working together. Until now. Dolores O’Riordan and Noel Hogan have “buried the hatchet” and performed together in the American TV show, The Bachelorette.

We were looking forward to seeing Dolores in a good mood, looking young, fresh and even thrilled. She’s splendid; her eyes, the mirror of her soul, are shining, and she smiles tenderly and sings with her sweetest voice. A voice that gives us goose bumps when she sings about love, that makes us understand her when she sings about heartbreak, that makes us protest when she sings against injustice, and that makes us believe in her when she says that she loves us.

Dolores looks happy and that’s worth enough, more than all the albums, tours, prizes or success they had. She’s back in Ireland, her homeland, where she was born, where she grew up and became who she is now. She’s singing in a beautiful scene, a cathedral, an atmosphere just like the one where she was singing in the choir when she was child, with hopes and dreams for which she worked hard. She’s getting back to her roots, at least it seems so, for the last few months, and we hope that this is helping her find herself again.

Candle-lit Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin witnessed how Dolores O’Riordan’s extravagant voice joined the magic chords coming from Noel Hogan’s guitar and a string quartet playing a beautiful version of their hit Linger. They made possible what some people wouldn’t have believed: that the hopes and dreams of people brought together by music always “linger”, despite adverse circumstances and the passing of time.

This performance has been short but comforting, new but at the same time a look back in time. Back to those years when two talented teenagers with empty pockets but a mind full of dreams were struggling to make those dreams come true in a country which, today, welcomes them with open arms.

DUBLIN SOUNDS LIKE JETLAG

Jetlag NYC’s members Dolores O’Riordan and Ole Koretsky have been spotted enjoying a dinner in Kite Chinese Restaurant in Ballsbridge, Dublin, where they even sang some of their new music.

Fellow diner Philip Tobin said: “Dolores and Ole were having a great time. They were singing in the restaurant and we got talking to them.”

The very best part of this story is that, according to Tobin, the Irish singer is now feeling happier than ever. After going through some complicated moments in her life, she is believed to have found love again with the DJ and record producer Ole Koretsky, native New York and band member at Jetlag NYC. During the meal, Dolores and Ole had an enjoyable chat with Philip Tobin, and they even sang some of their new stuff. This pleasant singsong continued in the nearby Mary Mac’s Bar.

It is worth commenting, as an anecdote, that in a generous act of kindness and fellowship, Koretsky gave Tobin his jacket. An unforgettable evening for Tobin, we would assume.
